Tactical Operations / Special Services / Rapid Deployment

Tactical Operations Diver System: TODS™ for short!

  • An extremely compact SCBA system designed for rapid deployment with tactical / rescue dive units.
  • Purpose-built for special operations where a full SCBA system is too cumbersome or not space efficient, such as helicopter or fast boat insertions.
  • Can be worn over a Ballistic Protective Vest and Rifle Plates. (Neutral Buoyant IIIA Ballistics & Level III+ Plates available)
  • Bottle can be dumped separate from the lightweight buoyancy compensating vest.
  • Both auto and manual inflation of 25lb bladder.
  • MOLLE attachment point on front and back for supplemental gear. Hi-Denier Ballistic Nylon construction.
  • Dry weight of just over 25lbs.
  • Can be modified to accept an 80 cu ft bottle on the back panel for deeper or longer duration operations.
  • System packs into a small suit-case sized soft-sided bag.
  • Shallow depth operation time of 20-25 minutes with supplied 13 cu ft bottle. 3 year Hydro certification.
  • Padded suspension system for equal distribution and stabilization  of weight on torso.
  • Universal fit with wide range of adjustments.
  • Well balanced for stability while on-board during rough seas or when climbing rope or boarding ladders.

Tactical Ops Diver System
Entirely Modular:

Unique to the T.O.D.S. system is the ability to configure it for a wide variety of mission profiles. In it's simplest form, the T.O.D.S. can be configured to become a Personal Flotation Device by removing the tank and life support system, beneficial in most boat operations.  For extended dive profiles, the T.O.D.S.™ can be configured with an additional tank mounted on the back pad.  If mission requirements call for an even longer diving profile,  larger capacity singles or doubles of up to 130 cubic feet can be used in conjunction with the T.O.D.S.™ system by use of a conventional back-plate.

Tactical Operations Dive System

Mission requirements call for a system that is universal fit, could be stored in a small space, donned and activated quickly, and worn in situations such as helicopter and boat operations in which conventional scuba gear would prove too cumbersome and restrictive. Comfort is also of great importance, as some operations would require the user to wear the gear for extended periods of time while engaged in complex, task-loaded missions.  With an overall weight of just 25 pounds, the system stores in a compact hand-carried pouch, and readies for use in less than a minute.  It provides sufficient air duration for the average dive a 20 to 25 minutes at moderate depths.  The TODS™ can go from duffel to dive in 15 seconds.

Though designed for professional use, many of the TODS performance characteristics make it equally suited to a wide range of water rescue applications.  The system's balance thanks to the harness design, facilitates surefooted movement across difficult terrain such as rocky jetties or soft sand, to access water entry. Because of the enhanced center of gravity, boarding ladder or rope net climbs are safer and more secure for the operator.  Without the associated weight and bulk of a conventional dive system, helicopter deployments are safer and far less cumbersome.

Rescue Swimmers with be particularly pleased with the TODS™ ability to pack down to a suit-cased size for stowing aboard ridged inflatable or conventional boats as well as helicopters.
