The TED "Tactical Entry Device" Invented by Mike Ruffu
The TED is designed for breaching building closures. Its Energy is generated from a .357 blank cartridge fired from an adapted 6 shot revolver, which deploys the internal ram.
The TED is operated by a single officer and can be used to open almost any door, including reverse opening steel doors, doors with multiple locks and can be used to take out a door’s hinges.
The TED - Tactical Entry Device can be deployed (fired) “6” times; as fast as the trigger can be pulled. It can be easily reloaded with the supplied 6 shot speed-loader, if additional access breaching is necessary.
The TED - Tactical Entry Device has been designed with an internal sound attenuating chamber and a recoil control absorbing feature to help with any excess remaining energy.
The TED - Tactical Entry Device saves precious time in entry situations. It enables agents and officers to stand out of harms way while breaching, and increases the element of surprise.
The TED - Tactical Entry Device allows officers to quickly gain entry through building closures, providing safety for the officers as well as rapid acquisition of the individuals contained within. Faster entry's and the resulting surprise ensures a safer work environment for your team members.
The lightweight piston-driven device means an end to officer injuries due to strained backs, arms and hands from swinging common battering rams.

The business end of the TED - Tactical Entry Device is constructed of Titanium for extended service life. To operate:Press the muzzle up against the door or wall squared up (perpendicular) and pull the revolver's trigger. An internal piston is driven forward by the energy produces by the proprietary .357 blank cartridge. The piston in turn drives the specially hardened striker against the surface to be breached. The kinetic energy created by the force multiplication of the TED - Tactical Entry Device's piston imparts a tremendous amount of driving force on the captive Striker.

Utilizing standard Speed-loaders for rapid reloading, the TED - Tactical Entry Device can work all day blasting through:
-
hollow-block constructed walls,
-
solid poured concrete walls,
-
solid wood entryways,
-
steel door entryways

Power for the TED - Tactical Entry Device comes from proprietary-manufactured blank cartridges. Maintenance of the TED - Tactical Entry Device is easy due to the simplistic design. The system can be disassembled for complete cleaning. The Striker can be easily replaced if it is damaged or becomes misshaped from use.

Heavy duty steel exterior out-swinging doors requires a perpendicular hold so that 100% of the projecting ram strikes the hinge pin squarely. The force of the TED's impact forces the hinge's plates into the structure enough to shear off the retaining screw heads. Even the hardest screws will shear off with a direct shot from the TED. A second operator hooks and pulls free each hinge to reduces resultant friction from the now-busted hinge. To finalize the breach, all the operator has to do is hit the door's lock assembly squarely and the door will "bounce" out of it's opening and fall to the ground. |
Master Chief Felix A. of MSTC once said:
"Breaching is a thinking man's game; brute force and ignorance should not be your SOP"
"Take a step back and look at the big picture; the door might just be unlocked!"
