WIRS
Logistical Service Life of Small Arms can now be tracked

The WIRS is an attachable component for M4 weapon systems, Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW) systems. Heavy Machine Gun systems and Precision Sniper Rifle (PSR) systems in 5.56, 6.8, 7.62, 300WM, 338LM and 50bmg. Small and unobtrusive, the WIRS adds minimal weight, no encumbrance of any operations and does not extend the profile or contours of the host weapon.

Beyond simply tracking the Expended Round Count (ERC) from the weapon platform, the WIRS records the linear recoil impulses by the round and can produce reports of weapon sub-component failures in real time. Additionally, the WIRS can be programmed with manufacturer’s pre-set RCP (Round Count Point) limits to indicate at when in the service life of the weapon, certain sub-components should be replaced.

The WIRS is adaptable to the FN MK48-Model O

The WIRS interrogates the weapon upon each firing and is capable of recording data for extended periods, and storing such  to the unit’s memory.  Downloads of the analytical data can be facilitated by both RF (Radio Frequency) as well as cabled. Proprietary software converts the downloaded data into simple charts and graphs that displays the weapon’s movement from recoil absorption, which affects the service life of the weapon platform.

The WIRS holds an addressable non-volatile memory that records the weapon’s serial number, in-service date, Expended Rounds Count (ERC), extraordinary events log, RCP pre-sets and provides tremendous logistic control of weapon inventories.

The WIRS is extremely rugged and capable of withstanding most battlefield abuse. The WIRS can be intergraded in a weapon subcomponent or can be mounted via MIL-Spec 1913 Picatinny Rail attachment.

The WIRS is adaptable to the MK46 Model O
Ready Room or Armory facilities can be equipped with a simple Radio Frequency Identification Tag (RFID) reader mounted to the ceiling or near to a single portal or egress for real-time recognition and down-load of WIRS-equipped weapons. Real-time logistics as to when said weapon is or has been and the Expelled Round Count (ERC) at time of recognition. Using the preprierary software, the weapon is "checked-in", reviewed for critical service Round Count Points (RCP) as well as any un-documented or un-authorized weapon discharges.

The WIRS is adaptable to the NEW PSR Weapon System
The WIRS is fully adaptable to all M4 Weapon System platforms by incorporation into a standardized sub-component.

The system can differentiate cyclic-rates as high as 10,000 rounds per minute which is more than enough to handle such weapons as M-134 Mini-Guns up to 25mm Chain Guns.

For weapon systems with critical component  issues, the WIRS is the answer with its ability to permit real-time determination as to where in the weapon is in it's service life.

The WIRS is designed with an operational lifespan as long if not longer than the weapon system itself.

The WIRS is adaptable to all M4 platforms

Volume Contract Ammunition Manufacturing:

The system can recognize catastrophic as well as non-catastrophic ammunition failures. Lower as well as higher cartridge pressures, before and after a cartridge failure to fire (FTF) are recorded so that after-action analysis can discover where in the production chain, the cause is located. If a small percentage of production lots need to be tested in live-fire, this system can provide a wealth of additional information besides just how many rounds were expelled.
