SECURESEARCH®, is the originator of the INERT I.E.D. for law enforcement / military hands-on training and familiarization. Their design shop is driven by world events and they produce the most exact INERT versions of current technology terrorist tools-of-the-trade.

There are imitators who have flooded the marketplace with poorly made copies or old technology devices that do not provide the cutting-edge needed for up-to-date training.

As the largest private entity with inventory second only to the US DoD-produced RESTRICTED devices library, SECURESEARCH® is the world leader in training aids for military & law enforcement Bomb Techs and Forensic Investigators. In addition, SECURESEARCH® has a plethora of industry-experienced lecturers and military instructors who provide the invaluable grounding in I.E.D. design and implementation as utilized by the world's Terrorists.

Quality and Reliability

SECURESEARCH® products are known by users in our industry as being of the highest quality and reliability available. They are in a category of their own.

They pride ourselves in the technical accuracy of our products; we know that people’s lives --and the lives of people they are sworn to protect-- depend on what they have seen and handled in their training, and we take this matter very seriously.  Proper training for the greatest knowledge retention, involves using all of the senses.

They are repeatedly and regularly told that their products—many purchased in the 1970s, 1980s--  and since, are still in use in the classroom; they have stood up to constant handling by instructors and students. While the instructional personnel using them have changed several times over, these training aids manufactured 40 years ago are still working hard for them. They have had only 6 items returned to them for repair or replacement, in 4 decades!

Innovative Product Development

SECURESEARCH® is -- and has been from day one --an innovator and original product development company. As the first commercial company in the world to formulate inert explosive simulants, and design and build a range of inert IED products and switching systems, they pioneered a great deal of research into what was then an unknown area for law enforcement and security training applications.

They have custom-developed many unusual and extremely complex and difficult products, for a host of government agencies.

Just to illustrate, following are a few product lines that SECURESEARCH® originally developed and first introduced on the market:

■  Starting in 1975  they began to develop a range of more than 60 display boards with inert explosive simulants and IED components mounted on them. Many of them are now matched with full-color poster images; they were developed by them in response to requirements by some government training agencies that needed the same material as the display boards but in a less expensive, easier to store and transport format.

Many SECURESEARCH® inert explosive and IED display boards have functional components and circuitry that can be demonstrated in the classroom by the instructor. So they are not just static displays.

■  In 1983 SECURESEARCH® was tasked by a federal government agency with developing and delivering the first national standard aviation security training and test kit in the world. For the first time, this standardized the training and testing of airport security screeners across the country, using a uniform set of test items, allowing them to be certified to work in any airport in the nation.

In 2006 SECURESEARCH® began producing the Air Courier-industry standard for TSA IACSSP qualification. This kit is now used domestically as well as international airports.

Among the products SECURESEARCH® developed 15 years ago  was a range of unique marker

pens. They contain Microtrace of live explosives used for detector canine training, and for testing explosive detection instrumentation.

A similar product line of drug simulant marker was also developed.

They are now approaching 40 different formulation.

In 1978 they started producing their very own video training programs.  They have now been released in DVD format. They are working on a new program.

In the 1980s, SECURESEARCH® developed the first firearm look-alike inert training aids that provide a detailed x-ray “signature”. They contain many internal components.

■ In 1993, SECURESEARCH® full-color photographed and x-rayed hundreds of  IED components, explosives samples, firearms, radio-control devices, hand grenades, military booby-trap, letter IEDs and military demolition firing devices; from these, we created a life-sized x-ray image reference manual, with detailed descriptions and matching full color photos of the objects. This material was later developed into both video and DVD presentations on x-ray image identification and interpretation, for bomb technicians and security personnel.

In 2007 SECURESEARCH® developed these unique products: electronically-fuzed pyrotechnic grenades & land mine training aids, and several pyrotechnic suicide vest & belt training aids.

In 2007/2008 SECURESEARCH® developed and introduced a radiological dispersion device (“dirty bomb”) training aid… another first, exceptional product for training first responders.

■ In 2009, SECURESEARCH® developed and tested  several styles of  body cavity-insertable, functional IED training aids, that are remotely-initiated by cell phone incoming signal.

■ In 2009, SECURESEARCH® published a 253-page X-ray Screener Trainer manual. It is packed with illustrations of many hazardous items—including exploded and cutaway views. It went into its second revised edition, in 2010.

■ Our product development is ongoing…
