Use that heavy semi or bolt 50 for what it was designed for: ANTI-MATERIAL
Ammo Designed, Manufactured & Intended for IED/EOD Disarming at Distance
This is not intended to be a super long-range round; rather it allows safer use of the .50 BMG’s power in the urban setting.
When used in an IED Disruption role, this round will cut clean a pipe bomb constructed of commercially available plumbing products. The disruption occurs faster than a commercial blasting cap can energize. The kinetic energy delivered into the Destructive Device is so great that the bomb's sub-components are thrown and dispersed over a wide area, that any subsequent detonation will be proportionally smaller that the whole device's capability.

We just shipped some to a well-known central Texas big city’s SWAT team.
Although frangible, it will completely smoke a car or truck’s engine, usually on the first shot due to the very high energy.

Completely Frangible: Sintered copper-tin matrix, no jacket
Works similar to a compressed powdered brass or copper-dust 12-ga Breaching Round.
100% energy conveyance into the intended target with limited beyond-target collateral dangers.

"Explosives & Bomb" Round (EBR)

The problem with using a .50 BMG caliber weapon, either semi-auto or bolt rifle has been the fact that the round in all previous configurations tends to overpenetrate, ricochet, and travel for a very long distance behind the intended target. This new .50 BMG cartridge designated as Anti-Ricochet / Frangible reduces these hazards and potential collateral damage risks substantially by providing the operator with the power of the .50 BMG while giving him an option that will not ricochet intact, even at a very shallow angle to water's surface. As demonstrated in the attached video, it is also a very good answer for the Sniper-initiated takedown of aircraft and other situations where intact overpenetration by a complete .50 BMG round would be undesirable. While retaining enough mass to ensure an undeflected shot on the target through intermediate barriers, it comes apart into fragments with much less penetration than would occur with an intact .50 BMG projectile, spending most of its considerable energy on the intended target.

WARNING - BOMB TECHS: Use distance to protect yourself from remote detonation or secondary devices. Increasingly popular with European Bombers, is the use of common cell phones as an initiation device. The Bombers permit discovery of the IED, wait until there is sufficient First Responders within the Kill-Zone, and only then, detonate the bomb.
In addition to the main device, secondary devices are being emplaced for subsequent use once the discoverable device has been disarmed. This technique is increasingly popular in former Soviet Republics.

The 50BMG IED/EOD Round can be used to disrupt a device or several devices at distance.
